Melvin E. McLean, age 54, of Hamilton, died Monday, June 18, 2001, at 4:40 p.m., in University Hospital, Cincinnati, as the result of a motorcycle accident. He was born in Richmond, Indiana on January 6, 1947, the son of George W. and Hazel C. McLean. He was a graduate of Garfield High School and was a four year veteran of the United States Air Force, serving two years in Guam. He was employed as a machinist for General Mills in Cincinnati for 25 years.
He is survived by his sons, Chris McLean and wife Carmen of Bossier, Louisiana and Chad McLean of Hamilton; his daughter, Cheryl Drury and husband Jeff of Fairfield; his brother, Marvin McLean of Hamilton; his sisters, Catherine Gordier and husband Joe of Battle Creek, Michigan, Gena Brockman and Jerry Ann Adams, both of Hamilton; his grandchilddren, Nathan McLean, Nicholas McLean, Bailey Boyd, Caleb Drury, and a special cousin, Loretta Adams. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Melody McLean in 1982, and a brother, Ernest Staggs in 1975.
